Current Activity:

Presently he is involved in: (As an active member of the team)

(i). Recently integrated, characterized and realized automatic Josephson series arrays for voltage standards at 1 and 10 volt level (using Hypress chip) at 76 GHz at par to international level and traceable to SI unit for dissemination of unit volt in India. We are providing this by calibrating the precision Zener reference standards.

(ii). We are involved in the establishment of “Nano-metrology” lab at NPL. The project entitled:

“Generic development of nanometrology for nanotechnology at NPL (I)”

Rs. 14.00 Crores funded by ministry of communication and information technology, Government of India.

 

As a principle investigator I am co-ordinating this project and the project aim is to set up for the first time in India the nanometrology lab to cater the present and future demand of some area of nano- measurements.

The objective of this project is to provide traceability to:

•  Industries and all others for line width, step height, surface texture measurements

•  Calibration of low voltage (nV), low current (pA), micro resistance and electric charge (pC).

 

Future plan is: (As an active member of the team)

(i). To establish the state of the art facility in the field of quantum voltage metrology by establishing, Programmable Josephson Voltage Standard (PJVS) for dissemination of unit volt' in collaboration with NIST , USA .

(ii). To establish Metrological Atomic Force Microscopy (MAFM) in collaboration with NPL-UK.

(iii). To take part in the international/bilateral intercomparison and round robin in the field of JVS and nanometrology etc.

(iv). To set up the fabrication line in the field of superconducting electronic circuits to study their physics and their applications in quantum metrology under CSIR XII th Five Year Plan. (Project: AQuaRIUS).
