Current Activity:
Quantum Transport phenomena in thin film hetero-structures, quantum dots, 2-D electron gas systems and ultra-narrow superconducting wires (1 Dimensional superconductors)
Research Interests
- To explore the quantum phenomena occurring at extremely low temperature and very high magnetic fields(temperature as close as 10 mK)
- Studies on “proximity effect” and “Andreev Reflection” occurring between superconductor-metal (insulator) junctions and superconductor-ferromagnet junctions.
- Spin polarized tunnelling through superconducting-magnetic junctions and its quantization
- Microwave absorption/irradiation experiments of hetero-junctions and 2DEG systems at sub mK temperature.
- Fractional quantum hall effect on 2DEG systems and quantum dots
To capture these exotic quantum phenomena transport measurements(direct current or low frequency using lock-in technique) will be carried out using a cryofree Dilution Refrigerator (base temperature :10 mK) along with magnetic field of 14 tesla.
