Brief Biodata:

Dr. Rajesh has received his doctoral degree in Chemistry in 1998 from the University of Delhi , Delhi , India . He joined the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research as scientist in 2000 and at present is Principal scientist since 2010. He joined the Graduate School of Life Science & Systems Engineering, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Fukuoka , Japan , as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow and worked on conducting polymer based biosensors and soft actuators from 2002 to 2004. He worked as an Associate Researcher at the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, University of California , Riverside , USA from 2010 to 2011 on carbon nanotube- field effect transistors (CNT-FET) nanobiosensors, under Indo-US science and Technology Forum fellowship program. He also worked at N ano-Bio interface center, Department of Physics, University of Pennsylvania , Philadelphia , USA during 2014-2015 on graphene-FET (Bio-FET) devices, under ICMR research program. Primarily his research is focused on novel electroactive carbon nanocomposite materials and their applications towards the fabrication of biochips (Lab-on-a-chip) that include impedimetric, amperometric, potentiometric, chemiresistive and field effect transistor (FET) nanobiosensors for biomedical applications, especially for the early detection of debilitating diseases such as, myocardial infarction . He has 76 publications ( Research papers in SCI journals: 54 ; Pate n ts : 7 (4US, 1EP, 3 Indian patents); papers in international conferences proceedings: 15 ; Book s : Chapter 01) to his credit. He is an Associate professor in AcSIR and 3 students have obtained PhD degree and 6 students got Masters' theses under his supervision. Currently 2 students are perusing their PhD research under his supervision. He got prestigious ICMR young biomedical scientist award 2014, IUSSTF Research fellowship Award 2010, K.S. Korgaonkar award 2010 from the Indian Biophysical Society and JSPS Research Fellowship Award 2002. He is a member in various scientific societies/ institutes like (i) Member of review Committee of DST sponsored Projects, (ii) Member (as external examiner) of the examination committee in Delhi Technological University, Delhi to evaluate master and doctoral theses, (iii) Member CSIR-NPL Management committee (2014-2016), (iv) M e m be r of Materials Research Society of India ( M R S I ), (v) M e m be r of American Nano Society, (vi) Member e ditorial board of Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology (Springer, USA: IF 2.0), (vii) Member Editorial Board Frontiers in chemistry (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland), (viii) Member of Science Advisory Board, U SA.
